Landscape Narrative ? There are a few other sinkholes nearby, one with a tiny wet spot, the others completely dry and forested. Cow pasture is 10 meters away but cattle do not have access to pond.;Pond in depression probably formed by karst collapse. Semi-permanently flooded or saturated opening supports no woody vegetation. Cover over edges of pond is provided by overhanging trees. Species poor ground flora consisting of a couple herbs and a few mosses.
Representativeness ? Plots is entire pond and the ring of trees which surround it. Includes upland herbs growing on edge of pond. Plot is not homogenous and should be used cautiously in quantitative analyses.
